I’m entering into an exciting new phase of my life. In April, my new book These Are Not the Words will be published by Groundwood Books.
"I’m Miranda Billie Taylor.
I make sense of the world with words."
To be published by Groundwood is a dream come true, as was the opportunity to work with Shelley Tanaka as my editor. I’ve known Shelley as a friend for almost 40 years –– it is amazing to now have her in my life as a mentor. The fabulous cover was designed by Michael Solomon. I’ve also known Michael for about 40 years and can’t think of anyone else I would have wanted as designer. With this team, the publication of These Are Not the Words feels like a homecoming, as though I have come full circle in my life.
These Are Not the Words is a semi-autobiographical fiction and as such it is a kind of homecoming, too. There are real people in it who do imaginary things and imaginary people who do real things. It is, I hope, a story that will transport you into the vibrant jazz scene in 1960’s New York.
I can’t wait to share it with you.
