Amanda West Lewis
I've spent my life working in the arts.
I strongly believe that through the arts we gain a deeper understanding of our humanity. As a young person, I wrote, acted, and directed plays. I also discovered the joy of creating beautiful letters, and learned the history of hand lettering. My passion and commitment for these artforms of writing, theatre, and calligraphy grew, and I studied all three mediums.

Thus, I've had three different, but overlapping, "careers" –– as an writer, theatre creator, and calligrapher. Everything that I have done, and presumably will continue to do, informs all of my work, no matter what medium I'm working in. I've built a life based on words on the page and words on the stage.
I continue to explore, question, and strive to create things of moral and thoughtful substance.
